March FEATURED Boot Camp Client – Amber

Congratulations Amber!

Amber moved to San Diego 8 years and like the rest of us, she can’t imagine living anywhere else (lucky for us!). She holds the Vice President of Finance position for Guild Mortgage Company. This girl is always looking for ways to better herself, as proven with her CPA and recent MBA credentials. She admits it can be exhausting, but she can’t see herself doing it any differently.

She’s happy to have her friends and family here in San Diego too. She spends most of her free time playing around San Diego with them. Feeling more adventurous lately, she went skydiving! Though she says she was scared to death, she also says “it was a blast – everyone should try it!”

She recently got accepted to be a volunteer at Rady Children’s Hospital, something she has wanted to do for a long time. “I love kids, even though I have none of my own, and I think that hospital does great things for families”.

Amber’s Experience with Bootique Fitness

Amber talks about how she came to workout with us and what her experience has been like in boot camp.

How long have you trained at Bootique Fitness?

I’ve been at Bootique for a little over a year – can’t believe it’s been that long!

What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness?

There are a number of results I’ve seen, both physically and mentally since starting at Bootique Fitness. I’ve lost weight and gained confidence, which is always great! But for me, there are other benefits that I’ve gained too. Overall, I just FEEL better. My job is stressful on a daily basis, and I can tell that on the days that I don’t do boot camp in the morning, I have a much harder time handling the stress. My overall attitude is just so much better when I can get out of bed in the morning before the day starts and get a good workout in. Doing Bootique Fitness boot camp also makes me want to do other things – I recently started running more – something I NEVER thought I would get into. But feeling better from Bootique Fitness makes me want to do more in general!

What are your reasons for sticking with Bootique Fitness all this time?

There are a few reasons it’s been easy to stick with over the year. For one, it’s only 45 minutes, which makes it so much easier to handle. The variety in the classes keeps it interesting constantly. I love the days that even though I’ve worked out consistently, I’m sore from a workout – it just goes to show me that I’m continuing to work on parts of my body that are different. The trainers help, because I personally feel loyal to them – I don’t want them to be disappointed that I didn’t show up! And of course, there’s so many classes, that you can usually find one that will work out for you!

You’ve invited 2 of your good friends to train with you. How does having
them at boot camp with you affect your results?

I love having my friends doing boot camp with me. I think more than anything, it helps me be accountable to keep going. And, as they’ve brought up to me since they’ve been in boot camp with me, apparently I’m very competitive (who knew??). I don’t want to be the friend that skips out all the time!

You train with Sarah and Ed mostly. Tell me about what that is like?

All the trainers are so different, which is one of the many things that make Bootique Fitness work. But your trainers are like friends that you are a little scared of.

Ed pushes you to do your best (get lower, jump higher, do push ups with no knees!) all the time, but with a good sense of humor. And Sarah? Have you seen her? Who doesn’t want to look like her, and if boot camp can get me closer to that, then I’m all for it! Plus, no matter how early and how cold, Sarah has a positive attitude and words of encouragement. I commend anyone who can’t call in sick and comes to work no matter what with a smile on their face!

What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?

Really that it’s kept me motivated over time. I’ve really never stuck with anything this long and this consistently. And that it never gets boring. Hard, I can handle, boring I can’t!

Thank you Miss Amber! We love training you!

Be sure to congratulate and celebrate Amber when you see her at boot camp! She plays over at the Mission Bay boot camp.
