March Featured Bootique Client – Debbi

Congratulations Miss March!

We are proud to announce Debbi as our Featured Bootique Client!

Debbi is wonderful! She’s been dancing with us for a year – always bringing positive energy to our classes! She’s been dedicated to her fitness for some time now and working out on her own at the gym. However, when she found herself stuck in a plateau, she reached out for more help and began personal training sessions with me. She takes on every challenge I give her and conquers it!

It has been an incredible experience to see how far she has come in just a few months of training. Not just physically, but it’s clear she’s working on her emotional health as well. You can see by how positive she is in her interview below.

What would you like people to know about you?

I’m a San Diego Native and the beach is my happy place. My “kids”, 26 and 22, are my heart, and we have a very tight bond as it’s been just the three of us for many years, on top of which we tragically lost their dad 10 years ago. I’ve only recently tiptoed back into the dating world and now have a boyfriend who I pretty much adore and who pretty much adores me…I’m a lucky girl 🙂 As far as work, I’m a Sr. Claims Examiner in the Workers’ Comp’ industry. Not my passion, but I am extremely grateful for what it has blessed me with. There IS something good in everything.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of our classes?

I love to decorate and should’ve been an Interior Decorator. For entertainment, I looove most all genres of dance. Both kiddos grew up performing and competing in dance and my son is now a professional dancer, based out of New York. One of my favorite things to do is go to see him perform, which I’ll be doing next Month in San Francisco. I also love hanging out with my daughter, whether it be hiking, shopping, just talking, whatever…we are two peas in a pod. I also enjoy catching up with my friends, and of course hanging out with my guy always makes me smile 🙂

Tell us an interesting or unusual fact about yourself.

I worked as a hair designer for 6 years before my kiddos were born, and loved it. I still dabble in that.

How about sharing one of your guilty pleasure?

Food wise it would have to be pastries…. I adore flaky pastries. Danielle knows this as I asked for a full report of the pastries that she enjoyed while in Paris 🙂

How long have you been training with Bootique Fitness?

For one year, this month.

What was your life like before Bootique Fitness? How is that different now that you train with Bootique?

I’ve always enjoyed fitness and eating right, but I didn’t LOVE it. I was a definite yo-yo’er (is that a word?). I couldn’t find a class that i liked at my gym, so was stuck with the weight machines and treadmill, which get boring when that’s all you’re doing.

Luckily, my girl Deb Franz, invited me to check out Bootique Dance Fitness classes, which have literally changed my life. I’m literally sad when I have to miss a class. Jaylin and Sabrina are beyond amazing. I recently began personal training with Jaylin, as well, and it’s the best decision I could’ve made. I’ve never enjoyed working out more. Looking forward to trying their personal training group classes too, soon…excited for that…I’ve never enjoyed working out more.

What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness? How do your results make you feel?

I’ve lost 38 lbs and a total of 15 inches in the last year and have permanently made a life change, including my diet. Bootique has upped my motivation, self control, and belief in myself that I can get to where I want to be. I feel much stronger, more confident, my endurance and balance have improved significantly. I have much more energy, and am more determined than ever to reach my fitness goals…and I really believe now that I can do it 🙂

Tell me about your experience with the trainers.

Jaylin is the one trainer who I’ve had the opportunity to train with, to date, and I can’t say enough good things about her…she is amazing! Her positive energy is contagious and she pushes me to the best of my ability, without yelling or any negativity at all. I’ve learned so much while training with her and she just makes my confidence grow more and more! She can even make me laugh while doing burpees.

What are your favorite/least favorite exercises or songs?

I’m loving all of the new songs right now…at the moment, my favorite is one of the harder songs…I can’t think of the name, but I’m humming it right now and it has kicks…I love kicks, lol. (It’s ‘Waiting on the Stage’)

Don’t roll your eyes, but I don’t have a least favorite exercise. Because, when I think I do, the more I do it, the better I get at it, and that is the BEST feeling ever! I’m a tad hard on myself and am determined to learn to do whatever I’m given to do…because Jaylin’s not going to set me up for failure, right?!

What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?

Ummmm, everything…my fellow bootiquers, the trainers, classes, training. The friendship, encouragement, and support that everyone provides is awesome. It’s nice to see women building each other up, rather than trying to bring each other down.

What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?

Find something that you love, and jump in….it won’t always be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thanks again to Deb Franz for encouraging me to join her in class at Bootique. It’s the best decision I could’ve made!!

Thank you Miss Debbi! We love training with you!
