30-Day Challenges are a great, digestible way to kickstart your goals and hopefully create a healthy habit along the way. These challenges can be anything from committing to flossing every day to incorporating a fitness move that gets harder as the month goes on.
Committing to something for 30 days can be life changing. It allows you to open your mind to new possibilities of how you can improve your wellbeing. Plus, when goal setting, it’s much easier to narrow your focus to a small change for a short period of time rather than setting your sights on one big, long term goal that can seem daunting and unattainable.
The best thing about these challenges is they don’t have to be crazy, life altering goals that force you to carve yet another hour out of your already busy day. They can be done in the amount of time it takes to brew your coffee or brush your teeth, and some of them can also be done simultaneously so you just tack on your activity to something you are already doing.
Some of our favorite fitness challenges are:
- The Plank Challenge – follow along and learn a different plank for each day for 30 days
- Daily Squat Challenge – start out day one with 50 squats and by the end of the challenge, you will be doing 250 squats!
- Push Up Challenge – start with 15 pushups on day one working your way up to a strong upper body with many push up variations
- Burpee Challenge – day one you will do 10 burpees and by day 30, you will be doing 50 burpees!
Keep in mind rest days are important during these challenges to give your muscles a chance to recover and rebuild after all their hard work. Proper form is also a must in executing these exercises safely and efficiently for the best results. Our Bootique personal trainers in San Diego are on hand to teach proper form to prevent injury and making sure you are getting the most benefit from these moves.
When you’ve completed your challenge, you will feel renewed confidence and a sense of accomplishment that can carry you forward to your next challenge and bigger goals. Plus, you will have earned yourself a new, healthy habit that you may want to continue past the 30 day mark.
