Congratulations Valerie!

Valerie is a paralegal for a personal injury/elder abuse law firm in San Diego. She also sits on the board of directors of the San Diego Paralegal Association, which keeps her insanely busy, but she says it’s worth is because “I enjoy my role with them as I get to do a lot of event planning and fundraising, or as I like to call it ‘partying for a cause’.” She loves doing anything outdoors from ridiculous obstacle course runs to playing beach volleyball to spending 8 hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Qualcomm rooting for her beloved Chargers.

Valerie’s Experience with Bootique Fitness

Valerie talks about how she came to workout with us and what her experience has been like in boot camp.

How long have you trained with Bootique Fitness?

I’ve been at Bootique Fitness for 13 months of Boot Camp and 5 months of Zumba

What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness?

I’ve seen many results since training with Bootique fitness such as a loss in weight, inches, and body fat. I now fit into some of my “skinny jeans” that were hidden in the back of my closet, but refused to get rid of.

More importantly I’ve felt a dramatic change in my body. I feel stronger and leaner, and I even feel taller because I think my posture is better.

What are your reasons for sticking with Bootique Fitness all this time?

This program keeps me motivated, which is something that I feel a lot of other programs that I’ve tried in the past lack. This program doesn’t lie either. When I first started, I remember reading that if you put in the hard work you WILL see results, and that is exactly what happened. I went from only being able to do five push-ups on my toes to now only doing push-ups on my toes, even those absolutely ridiculous dead man push-ups!

The progression of results keeps me motivated, which is great because I still have some more skinny jeans in my closet to get into!

You’ve been very kind with sending us referrals. How is it better working out with friends?

It’s like when you hear of a great new restaurant in town or designer-discount shopping website, you want to tell all your friends about it. Because training with Bootique has had such a positive effect on me, I’ve been telling pretty much everyone I know where I train and how awesome it is.

My friends who have joined either boot camp or Zumba also keep each other accountable to going to class so we’re less likely to miss a class because we just don’t feel like it. The best part of working out with friends is witnessesing their progress and accomplishments. When a friend of mine who recently joined texted me one night after class, “I killed it at boot camp today, I felt so strong!” And another friend told me, “Zumba on Sundays just brings a smile to my face,” I felt incredibly proud of them and happy that I get to share in it with them.

You train regularly with most of our trainers. Tell me about what that is like.

I’ve learned so much from talking with the trainers and reading their blogs and newsletters. I now know what works and how to get results, and if I ever have questions, my trainers are more than happy to answer them. Most importantly they continue to push me and challenge me.

What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?

Obviously I enjoy the actual workouts and the variety of the workouts or I wouldn’t do them as often as I do, but I enjoy that Bootique Fitness has changed my outlook on fitness and my overall health. I’ve learned to set specific goals for myself and I’ve learned to hold myself accountable, more so than I’ve ever done before. My health and fitness are a major priority in my life and in my decision-making, thanks to Bootique Fitness!
