7 Fast Food Picks Under 350 Calories!

As much as we try to prepare our meals and keep healthy snack choices on hand, there are some days when your only choice may be to eat out – and quickly!

Whether it’s on the way to your kid’s softball game, on the way to work, or you’re running late for a class, we need to be aware of the healthier, low calories/fat options we have at drive-thru and fast food places. Here are some options for “on the go meals” without packing on the extra calories.

Panda Express

Broccoli Beef with Mixed Veggies – 190 calories, 9.5g fat

Skipping the rice, extra sauce, and anything fried gives us a healthier meal right at the start. Remember to also avoid the Chow Mein noodles, as they are greasy and have extra fat. Still a flavor filled choice that will keep you full and satisfied on the go.

Subway

6 inch BLT on wheat bread – 320 calories, 9g fat

Sandwich places can be deceiving when it comes to healthy options. We see the lean protein and veggies, but don’t realize the extras (sauces, cheese, and mayo) can pack on extra fat and calories. Try the different mustards and all the veggies you like to make this a healthy, quick meal. For breakfast, try the same thing with egg whites!

Chick-Fil-A

Grilled Nuggets (8 count) with Barbecue Sauce – 185 calories, 3g fat

These chicken bites are protein packed to satiate your hunger pains – quick. Stick to BBQ sauce for a low cal meal; picking the Chick-fil-A home sauce will add another 140 calories just for that little cup! Worth it? Nope!

McDonald’s

Grilled Chipotle BBQ Snack Wrap and Side Salad – 315 calories, 10g fat

I know we smell the fries from down the street, but McDonald’s can be an option if you want to keep it on the healthier side. With the grilled chicken instead of fried and a wrap instead of a bun, fat and calories are already zapped. Add a side salad with the balsamic vinaigrette, and (healthy) dinner is served!

Burger King

Hamburger and Apple Slices – 260 calories, 9g fat

We don’t think of hamburgers being a healthy option, right? But take off the cheese (extra fat) and replace the fries or onion rings with apple slices, and you’ll have a pretty tasty and low calorie, meal. Ask for extra lettuce, tomato, and onion to pack on the flavor and crunch.

Taco Bell

Fresco Chicken Soft Tacos (2 tacos) – 280 calories, 7g fat

We usually don’t make a “run for the border”, but in this case, these chicken tacos are your best bet. Adding nothing fried and nixing the cheese makes these tacos delicious and the healthiest choice. The chicken is juice and the tomatoes and lettuce make for a nice crisp taste. Add some hot sauce to make it even more flavorful.

Dunkin’ Donuts

Egg White Turkey Sausage Wake-Up Wrap – 310 calories, 12g fat

Dunkin’ Donuts is not normally known for healthy choices – especially for breakfast. But Dunkin’ isn’t just donuts anymore. With the eggs white, and your sausage of turkey, we’re eliminating the fat and calories with these yummy substitutes; also packing on that protein. Add a black coffee and your breakfast is complete! Oh, and you get to have 2 of these wraps for under 350 calories. Good Morning!

With all these fast food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you won’t have to worry about veering off the healthy path. Preparing and shopping for your meals is always the number one healthiest option, but when life gets hectic and you need some fuel, opt for these low calories meals, and you‘ll never have to worry about getting off track.
