Fun Facts
I met Jaylin in 2011 – I had quit my sales job at a Fortune 500 company on a random Wednesday at 10am. I had just had…enough!
In my time off I became a certified personal trainer and landed upon Jaylin’s job posting. Her red hair and smile were inviting.
She became my mentor and friend and I’ve been with her since. I’ve worked at other gyms and camps but Bootique is my favorite.
The camaraderie among the women is awesome! My goal is to make every class fun – to have as little monotony as possible. It’s tricky though, it really makes me visualize the program I’m creating, from start to finish. If I get excited about what I’ve created for the girls then I feel I’ve done a good job.
I know I’ve been successful when I hear “we’re done already?!” or “that was fun!” I’m passionate about making fitness fun for others, so that they realize it can be done with friends/family, and often.
It doesn’t have to be something you dread! The more you like it, the more you will do it.
Debre Libanos – a monastery in Ethiopia founded in the 13th century. It was the Ethiopian Christmas holiday.
We hiked straight up the side of a mountain where men and women were taking cleansing showers at the top before entering a holy cave where historical beliefs state a Saint meditated for 29 years.
We were then invited into the simple home of a very kind religious leader. He spoke only his native language but shared bread and drink with us and even took photos with us.
It was such a unique and eye opening experience. Everyone stared as us white foreigners.
My friend who spoke the native language overheard one person say “Geez it’s not like they are monkeys, everyone should stop staring.”
