March – FEATURED Boot Camp Client – Janet

Congratulations Janet!

We are proud to announce Janet as our Featured Boot Camp Client!

Janet has always been a joy to have in class. She’s good-spirited, funny and always pushes herself! We have watched her transform right before our eyes, dropping over 50 lbs already. She recorded a testimonial for us last fall that still brings tears to my eyes anytime I see it. Janet is a perfect example of why I love working with women, helping them to feel great about themselves and change their lives.

What would you like people to know about you?

What people don’t know about me is that I have been selling Medical restraints for twenty years, but studied Fashion Design and Illustration in college. The job was an obvious choice haha. I love camping and own a 1956 Shasta “Canned Ham” trailer. I grew up in Aspen, Colorado and was a cheerleader for a very fierce “skier” team with a dream of creating the “perfect cheer” and working for ICF Cheerleading camps… or Disneyland. My favorite movies are Waiting for Guffman and Anne of Green Gables.

I have 3 wonderful kids, 1 daughter 24, and two boys 22, 16. Teenzilla lives haha. Also two pugs which are like small children, Sluggo and Cheeto. I’m a recovering Soccer Mom 😉 I also sing off key very loudly in my car!

Janet’s Experience with Bootique Fitness

Janet talks about how she came to workout with us and what her experience has been like in our San Diego boot camp.

How long have you been training with Bootique Fitness? Have you ever stuck to anything that long before?

I started working out with Bootique Fitness at the end of December 2011 and have never looked back. The only thing I’ve stuck with longer is Stampin Up! But I don’t think sitting on your booty making cards counts.

What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness?

I’ve gone from wearing a size 24/22 to 16 and sooo many inches. I have lost over 50 lbs, and participated in my first 8.2 mile race, and I participated in my first mud run! I can bend over to tie a shoe without falling, and can even jump hence the happy face in my photo!

What are your reasons for sticking with Bootique Fitness all this time?

I really enjoy living my life now and finding outdoor activities. It’s fun to be able to do things with my kids and not feel embarrassed. Bootique Fitness has done that for me. They inspire and encourage me to take control of my life one squat at a time! I also completely enjoy the other boot campers. Laughing through the workouts and finding strength and encouragement when you need it the most keeps me going. I also like the variety. It’s never the same.

Tell me about your experience with the trainers.

The trainers have been awesome. I’ve never felt like an outsider or excluded because of my size and love how inspiring and motivating they are. I can remember not being able to do a sit-up during my first 300 series. Ed had to help lift my back and I felt bad for my team. Both Ed and my group were so supportive and within a few weeks I could do sit-ups by myself. That made me feel great and Ed noticed my personal accomplishment too.

Jaylin, Sarah, and the trainers take time to know me, laugh with me, and really see me for who I am, I’m not just a body at camp. They also don’t let me off the hook.

Jaylin you are crazy woman and I love your endless energy! Always reminding me I am capable of achieving anything.

What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?

I really love working out outside! It’s so great to just breathe fresh air, or burnt toast depending on the time of day! Even when it’s raining, Bootique is still going on. I’ve never experienced a workout routine that makes you want to come back the next day until i started coming here. BOOTIQUE IS GREAT!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would like to thank all those ladies who have given me “everything they got” from flash mob Zumba in the park and busting out those Zumba moves while lunging, jumping, and squatting to crazy cheetah mat Mondays with maxi pads and old school disco moves and a Sally O’Malley thrown in. Also Dance Mom discussions… You know who you are. You are all my peeps and my Bootique Babe posse.

Thank you Miss Janet! We love training you!

Be sure to congratulate and celebrate Janet when you see her at boot camp! She usually plays at the Hillcrest 7:15 am boot camp and Zumba classes.
