Featured Bootique Client – Sally
Congratulations Miss June!
We are proud to announce Sally as our Featured Bootique Client!
Just over a year ago, we welcomed Sally back from a long hiatus with open arms. It’s wonderful to see her make the commitment to herself to focus on her fitness now.
In a recent class, Sally was reminiscing about her first class with Ro:
Ro shares: “My favorite Sally moment was maybe the 2nd time I had met her. I was like oh wow, have you ever done the Sally up workout? She hadn’t 😉 So I played “Flower” by Moby and song essentially repeats “Bring sally up, bring sally down” for 3:30 mins. You go into a squat when it says bring sally down and come up when is says bring sally up. It’s magical.”
Coincidentally??? Sally didn’t make it back to another Ro class for a while.
Sabrina shares: “Sally and I had a lovely bonding session on a Friday. She didn’t want to be the only one in class so I promised I would work out with her in a Christmas sweater. She even forgot her shoes but came to class anyways because she didn’t want to miss out. Well, needless to say she showed up and we worked out, laughed, and it was a blast.”
What would you like people to know about you?
I grew up in Santa Barbara and moved to San Diego about 6 years ago for my job. Even though I try to get out and explore often, I still feel like there’s so much to learn about the region.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of our classes?
When the weather is nice, I can often be found in Balboa Park lounging on the grass or checking out the museums. I also enjoy baking and cooking, and various craft activities.
Tell us an interesting or unusual fact about yourself.
I grew up as a third-generation candy-maker, and yes, it was as fun a childhood as you’re imagining!
Wanna share a guilty pleasure?
Snuggling with dogs (usually not my own) and having The Bachelor/Bachelorette viewing parties.
How long have you been training with Bootique Fitness?
About a year, though technically I first joined Bootique way back in 2013 but was unfortunately sidelined by an injury. Can’t believe it took me so long to rejoin!
What was your life like before Bootique Fitness? How is that different now that you train with Bootique?
I work at a computer all day long. I love what I do but I have boundary issues and kept overworking. Now I use classes as a way to set a hard exit time during the week that can’t be missed because I know I’ll get a text from the trainer asking where I am! I also really love that it gets me outside during the week since I have a windowless office.
What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness? How do your results make you feel?
Not too long after I started I had a friend comment that she can see definition in my arms which was just the boost that I needed to stay committed. I really like that I like coming to class – it’s no longer a chore and instead is something I look forward to and try to find ways to fit enough classes in during the week.
Tell me about your experience with the trainers.
I’ve had a lot of fun with the trainers – each of them has a different style and I get different things out of their classes but I always feel supported while still being pushed to challenge myself.
What is your favorite/least favorite exercise?
If I tell you the answer, I’ll probably have to do more of them 🙂
What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?
I love being outside, the fun people I meet in class, and of course the surprise visits from curious dogs.
What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
I feel a difference in my attitude this time around vs. back in 2013, so I know it helps to be mentally ready to make a change and commit but the classes fly by and before you know it, it’ll be your one-year anniversary!
Thank you Sally. We love training you!
