What would you like people to know about you?
I am 45 years young (or will be by the time this posts!) and have the joyful job of auditing pharmaceutical clinical trial data to ensure patient safety and help get much needed medication on the market. I have been in a long-term relationship with my favorite person in the world (makes it much easier when they are your favorite!) and have no children unless you count the five furry feline friends I have at home.
I love to do all sorts of things but most of all I love to laugh and make others laugh too. It makes me happy! Over the past several years I battled with illness and after a major surgery left me sad and broken I decided that I had enough. I searched the internet for a women-only fitness group to help me bust the blues and help me get my life back and am so grateful that an ad for Bootique Fitness popped up in my search. I started the next day and haven’t looked back.
Unfortunately, 4 months after I started with Bootique, illness struck again and I had to have yet another surgery which kept me from boot camp for another several months. When I finally was able to start again in January of this year, I ended up getting a bad case of pneumonia which again had me down for the count. I slowly started back to boot camp as I was recuperating and just as I was beginning to gain momentum I ended up breaking my ankle! Talk about obstacles! I was feeling a bit defeated but Bootique Fitness was so supportive and encouraging -each of the trainers worked with me so that I could still work out while my ankle healed.
So after 2 surgeries, pneumonia, and a broken ankle, I finally am healthy enough to put forth all my effort at boot camp and it has totally paid off. I have lost over 30 pounds and inches galore with Bootique Fitness and most of it has been over the past 6 months!. I am fully back in action and moving full speed ahead!
Rachael’s Experience with Bootique Fitness
Rachael talks about how she came to workout with us and what her experience has been like in our San Diego boot camp.
How long have you been training with Bootique Fitness?
Counting all of my “mishaps” it will be 2 years this February.
What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness?
AMAZING RESULTS! When I started, I was 204 pounds and couldn’t even do one sit-up. As of December 15, I weigh 172 and have never felt stronger or healthier in my entire life. Workouts are tough but fun and the ladies I work out with are some of the best women on the planet.
Honestly, tears are welling up as I write this just thinking how grateful I am to all of the trainers at Bootique. They have enabled me to become the person I always knew I could be and I am so proud of myself for what I have done and what I will continue to do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
What are your reasons for sticking with Bootique Fitness all this time?
So many reasons… multiple locations/multiple times a week (no real reason to miss), fun, challenging, fun, encouraging, fun, supportive, fun, camaraderie, fun, accountability (but in a kind and supportive manner), fun, and the trainers are awesome (and did I mention fun?). And of course, results, results, results!
Tell me about your experience with the trainers.
Each trainer has a different style and are so incredibly knowledgeable. They work around injuries, they are supportive in every way, and they have made me feel like part of a big happy family. I still remember that Jaylin remembered my name after only meeting me one time and I thought that was so amazing. It seems like such a minor thing but it just made me feel important and that she was truly aware and interested in who I was and why I was there.
What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?
I love the variety. Each day is different and I never am bored or feel that I am neglecting any part of my body. The workouts are fun and the trainers challenge you to give your all (you get to do burpees today, yes? yes?) and make you glad you did.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Once again I would like to say how thankful I am for Bootique Fitness for helping me become a new person. My boyfriend is now afraid of my big “guns” because he knows I can wrestle him to the ground in 2 seconds flat. I told him once after boot camp that I was so proud of myself because I had done over 50 push-ups over the course of the class. He replied, “that is 49 more than I can do!”. That in a nutshell is how fantastic Bootique Fitness is. Thank you, thank you , thank you!!!
