February Featured Boot Camp Client – Katie Jacobus

Congratulations Katie!

We are proud to announce Katie as our Featured Boot Camp Client!

Since I don’t have the pleasure of training Katie myself, I asked her trainers to share some stories about her. They gave me some fun material.

Sarah says that it’s clear that Katie loves her job. I can attest to that too – I actually met Katie where she works at Vitality Chiropractic. Dr Kris invited me to the office last February to help them kick off their annual February fitness challenge. We talked a lot about how important it is to find a fitness program that is fun so that it’s easy to stay consistent. After my talk, Katie was eager to try our boot camp in San Diego. She even round up 4 of her friends to take our class that weekend.

Her 6 a.m compadres have all joined in on nicknaming her “K J”. She’s known for enjoying plank – that is except for when she has to run to her car halfway through the workout to turn her car lights off. 😉

What would you like people to know about you?

I am a native San Diegan 🙂 Born and raised in the sunshine! I received a Marketing degree at Long Beach State and I currently work at Vitality Chiropractic with the amazing Dr. Kris Brew! I have great respect for my mind, body & soul. I enjoy treating it well, through many holistic healing avenues. I am currently enrolled in a clairvoyant program at Intuitive Insights, training in energy and healing work. What most people like to refer to as voodoo. 😉 haha

Katie’s Experience with Bootique Fitness

Katie talks about how she came to work out with us and what her experience has been like in our boot camp in San Diego.

You’re celebrating your 1 year anniversary with Bootique Fitness! What’s that like

It amazes me how fast a year has gone by! At my first 6 a.m. boot camp, it was pitch dark and raining! I tried so hard to convince myself to turn around and go back to bed. I am so proud of myself that I stayed and continued to go even though I could barely move (oh man, that first week is rough)! I am extremely happy to have found a workout program that works for me… I love being strong and healthy!

What was your life like before Bootique Fitness?

I had tried anything and everything to get into shape: Yoga, Pilates, running, gym membership, trainer, etc… I felt like I had exhausted all my options and my bank account! I started to believe that I must not be good at working out because exercise was not exciting or enticing enough.

What results have you seen since coming to Bootique Fitness?

I have seen a total mind and body shift! Of course I am physically stronger but boot camp is just as much an emotional workout! You have to be headstrong to show up on those lazy days and push yourself harder when you’re tired!

How do your results make you feel?

Once you start feeling better/seeing results you are hooked and then it transitions into a lifestyle.

It is very empowering… I know I am making a conscious choice to better myself!

What is the biggest difference in your life since you started Bootique Fitness?

In my decision to join Bootique, I made a commitment to work hard and hold myself accountable. The outcome is up to me; I set goals, try my hardest and get results. I now know that I am powerful and capable of anything.

Tell me about your experience with the trainers.

The trainers do a really great job of making each individual feel important. I have had the pleasure of training with Sarah, Mollie and Sabrina. They are all so unique and provide a great variety! I have never had the same workout twice, which I believe keeps everyone intrigued.

How boring would it be if I knew what I was in for each time? …I would eventually get bored and quit.

What do you enjoy the most about Bootique Fitness?

I LOVE that the workouts are outdoors. People need to get outside more!

I also appreciate the friendships and support from the other members and trainers.

Why should other women just like you consider Bootique Fitness as their solution?

1. CONVENIENT: You get a GREAT workout in just 45 minutes. There are no excuses not to fit it in!
2. SUPPORTIVE: Everyone you meet is friendly and encouraging.
3. FUN: Workouts are outdoors and always different from the last.
4. CHALLENGING: Work hard and you will see results!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thank you Bootique Fitness for providing a fun exercise environment, it has truly changed my life!

And a special shout-out to my 6 a.m Mission Bay ladies! It is tough to get up that early but I never, EVER regret it!
