Happy Tabata Thursday!
Let’s get our bodies into shape, literally, With CROSS body mountain climbers and V-sits!
Don’t think you have time for an effective workout? Think again. Tabata = only 4 minutes, but it’s the longest and most efficient 4 minutes of your day:
- Work out to your highest capacity for 20 seconds
- Rest for 10 seconds
- Eight rounds total
Whether you are at home, at the park with your kiddos, or at work, there is always time for Tabata! First up, V-sits! Lay down with your legs straight in front of you, use your abs to lift your upper and lower body to form a “v” position. Repeat lifting and lowering your body with control.
For your next 20 seconds, you get to do cross body mountain climbers. Begin in a push-up position with hands under your shoulders, back straight, and fighter abs/core. Instead of a traditional mountain climber where you are driving your knee forward, with this exercise you drive your knee towards the opposite elbow and repeat on the other side. Alternate between the cross body mountain climbers and v-sits every 20 seconds (during your 10 seconds break).
As always, watch San Diego Personal Trainer Sabrina, for the correct form, technique, and modifications for both exercises. Follow along with Sabrina, or whip out that Tabata timer to do it on your own. Let’s shape up!
