I love Boston

There is plenty of sadness surrounding the events of this year’s Boston Marathon. I feel a pang in my heart when I think of the city I love been terrorized by 2 people who are so unhappy that they felt the need to strike fear, hurt and pain on others.

At the same time, I can see all the beauty that comes out of events like these – people pulling together to support one another with loving words and a helpful hand.

One of our dear members, Rachel Jasse, has friends that were personally affected on Marathon Monday. Her friend, Marc Fucarile, had to amputate his leg. He was standing with his group of friends that were also afflicted with wounds and injuries.

They have set up a foundation to collect voluntary donations to help get them through this tough time. All donations go directly to the victims and their families to help with the hospital bills and other expenses that are still adding up.

Show your Love and Support

To support, we are hosting a charity boot camp class on Sunday, May 5th at 11:30 am in Balboa Park. All proceeds will be given directly to the foundation. We would love for you to come workout with us but if you cannot make it, you can still offer a donation online at the link below. This boot camp session it open to everyone, all fitness levels, all ages, men and women (you do not have to be a member of Bootique Fitness). Don’t be afraid of the word ‘boot camp’ – we promise not to hurt you. This will be a fun-filled workout that can be modified to fit your current fitness level to give you a safe workout.

Anything you can offer to support these families will be much appreciated. Donations are voluntary only. We can accept cash and check directly or you can donate online via the foundation’s link.
