This weekend is the San Diego Pride celebration. Thousands of fabulous people will be out and about in the downtown/Hillcrest area. The annual San Diego Gay Pride festival will be held at Marston Point (6th and Upas) in Balboa Park starting on Saturday at noon. Before that, the front runners kick off the San Diego Pride 5K that runs along the parade route starts and finishes at University and Center Streets. After the 5K, the famous San Diego Pride parade begins at 11 am on Saturday at the corner of University and Center and travels down to Balboa Park to the festival.
San Diego Zumba Warm Up
There will be music and dancing all weekend long as San Diego Pride supporters get together to celebrate. Kicking it all off, on Saturday morning, Bootique Fitness will lead the 5K participants through a 15 minute Zumba warm-up. The warm-up begins at 9:30 am on the stage at the corner of University and Center, followed by singing on the National Anthem before the 5K runners and striders take off.
What is Zumba
Zumba is a Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning dance fitness party (TM). This 15 minute warm-up is designed to get the 5K run and striders ready for their event, with heart rates elevated, muscles loosened up and bodies pumped with energy. Anyone can participate as Zumba instructor, Jaylin Knight, will demonstrate low and high intensity versions of the dances. Expect to hear a variety of Latin, world and pop music that will make you want to move your body and dance!
Come out this weekend to dance, celebrate and show your PRIDE!
