We have Pride San Diego so let’s Dance!

Love Wins

This year is an especially exciting time to celebrate San Diego Pride! We have lots to celebrate as the supreme court declared gay couples have the right to marry all across the US.

San Diego Pride 5K Front Runners and Walkers

We are delighted to be invited back by Ricky Fonseca for the 4th year to lead the San Diego Pride 5K Front Runners and Walkers with a Zumba warm-up. Each year we take the stage gets better and better as the energy of Pride is contagious and more and more wonderful people come out to celebrate!

Emmy award winning Craig Herrera from Channel 10 News is once again the announcer at our Pride 5K Run and Walk. Don’t you just want to hear your name being called out as you make it across the finish line? Sign up for the San Diego Pride 5K here.

San Diego Zumba Warm Up for Pride

At 9:00 am, Bootique Fitness will lead the 5K participants through a 15 minute Zumba warm-up. The warm-up is on on stage at the start line on the corner of University and Center, followed by singing on the National Anthem before the 5K runners and striders take off.

At 9:30 am, the front runners kick off the San Diego Pride 5K that runs along the parade route starts and finishes at University and Center Streets. After the 5K, the famous San Diego Pride parade begins at 11 am on Saturday at the corner of University and Center and travels down to Balboa Park to the festival.

Are you familiar with Zumba?

Zumba is a Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning dance fitness party (TM). This San Diego Pride warm-up is designed to get the 5K run and striders ready for their event, with heart rates elevated, muscles loosened up and bodies pumped with energy. Anyone can participate as Zumba instructor, Jaylin Knight, will demonstrate low and high intensity versions of the dances. Expect to hear a variety of Latin, world and pop music that will make you want to move your body and dance!

Come out this weekend to dance, celebrate and show your PRIDE!
