5 Things Morning Exercisers Do to Set Up for Success

While we would all love to spring out of bed the second our alarm goes off, bright eyed and ready to take on the day, the fact is that most of us don’t operate that way.

Usually, the best we can do is drag ourselves out of bed with just enough time to get to work on time, but what if you want to add a morning workout to your day? There are many benefits to starting your day with a workout including boosting your metabolism, burning more fat and maybe most importantly, getting it out of the way so you can get on with your day.

Here we’ve compiled 5 tips that will make even the worst morning person feel prepared for your a.m. workout.

Sleep in your workout clothes

If the only thing you have to do is roll out of bed and slip on your shoes, you will be much less inclined to hit the snooze button. Feel weird about sleeping in your clothes? Set them out the night before so all you have to do is grab them, pull them on and go.

Get into a routine

Having a sleep routine is so beneficial for your body. Good sleep hygiene means going to bed around the same time every night, eliminate electronics at least an hour before bed, and aim for 7-8 hours a night. Try to wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends.

Prep the night before

If you need a little fuel before you work out, set your coffee pot to start brewing when your alarm goes off and prep your breakfast the night before. If you didn’t sleep in your workout clothes, you could at least lay them out so there’s no searching for sneakers while you’re have asleep in the morning. Having these items ready in the morning without having to do any work will get you out the door in no time.

Find a workout you love
